UHL & Associates, Inc. provides a comprehensive range of services in water resources planning, development, resource management, and strategic planning. Uhl has completed projects over large regional areas and in complex hydrologic settings. Our range of geographic experience is from the humid northeast United States to the arid Kalahari Desert and northern Afghanistan. Our projects have been varied from production wells for industry and municipal water utility authorities to large regional development programs for potable water supplies and large-scale irrigation projects. Uhl’s drilling and groundwater expertise addresses the essentials of environmental projects. UHL is resourceful in terms of data acquisition, interpretation, pilot testing and design of monitoring and remedial systems. The controlling technical and risk-driving features are identified and the practicability and advantages of active remedial systems are compared with in-situ biological or chemical treatment and natural renovation options. UHL also lends expert assistance to other environmental consultants to address specific groundwater issues or strengthen groundwater aspects of projects.

LITIGATION SUPPORT SERVICES AND EXPERT TESTIMONY

UHL & Associates, Inc. provides litigation support and expert testimony for municipal, industrial, commercial, and private parties involved in water rights and contamination matters. Principals of Uhl have prepared numerous technical documents, expert reports, and affidavits for litigation purposes; given depositions and have provided expert courtroom testimony and participated in technical/cost apportionment settlement negotiations.

INTERNATIONAL SERVICES

UHL & Associates has completed many international water resource and environmental assessment projects in widespread parts of the world including Botswana, Lesotho, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Somaliland, Ecuador, Afghanistan, the Philippines, Jordan, Sri Lanka, the Caribbean, and many other countries. Uhl has provided services to international governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), USAID contractors, attorneys and private corporations. These projects have involved large regional groundwater resource exploration and water supply development; village and peri-urban area water supply assessment and development of new water sources (groundwater and springs); country-wide water resource quantity studies; water supply system costing; well field management; and training in installing and maintaining water meters, drilling applications, and other subjects.

Uhl has worked closely with a solar power firm in several countries in evaluating the feasibility of and implementing this technology for water supply systems. Vincent Uhl acts in an advisory and technical training capacity and has mentored Engineers without Borders University of Pennsylvania student groups involved in village water supply projects in Cameroon and Guatemala.
