Borehole Drilling Specifications

Uhl & Associates prepared sample borehole drilling specifications for two types of water supply wells:

1. Drilling specifications for Bedrock wells in consolidated bedrock

2. Drilling specifications for unconsolidated wells

These sample specifications include templates of requirements for driller qualifications, codes and standards, local geology, products (grout, casings, well screens), execution (drilling and installation, well development, driller record-keeping), pumping tests (step-drawdown and constant-rate) upon well completion, and site demobilization. The sample specifications for unconsolidated wells also include requirements for well screen centralizers, and pilot holes and sieve analysis for sizing of well screen slot-size openings and gravel pack design. Sample Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and Schedules of Prices to be filled in by the prospective drilling contractors are also provided in the sample specifications.

Rural Water-Supply Groundwater Project Checklists

Uhl prepared a set of seven Rural Water-Supply Groundwater Project Checklists to support USAID project teams conducting these types of projects.
